InvestigatorSearch is a directory and job board for licensed private investigators. Clients use it for free. Investigators pay a flat membership to be listed and to see jobs. Nobody pays us a commission, and we’re never a party to the work.

Post a job
Pick a case type, add your location, write a short summary, and tell us how you’d like to be reached. Leave the subject’s name and identifying details out of the post; you’ll share those directly with the investigator you choose. Posts are seen only by license-verified investigators, reviewed before they go live, and expire after 30 days.

Search by case type and distance. Every profile shows the investigator’s license number and state, years in practice, starting rate, and reviews from previous clients. Message anyone directly.
Hire on your terms
Agree on scope, price, and timing with the investigator. Payment happens between you and them. When the work is done, leave a review so the next client knows what to expect.

Create your listing
Choose a membership plan, then build your profile: license details, case types you take, service radius, rates, and background. We verify your license against the state registry before your listing is published, usually within one business day.
Find work
Get an email the moment a job is posted within your service radius in a case type you handle. Each post shows the client’s name, phone, and how they prefer to be reached, so you can call or text them directly. Clients can also find you in the directory and reach out first.
