1. What InvestigatorSearch is
InvestigatorSearch.com (“the Site”) is an online directory and job board that allows clients to post investigation-related jobs and browse listings, and allows licensed private investigators (“Investigators”) to list their services and respond to job posts. The Site is operated by East End Media Group LLC (“we,” “us”).
2. We are not an investigation agency
We are not a licensed private investigation agency and do not perform, supervise, direct, or guarantee any investigation. We are not a party to any agreement between a client and an Investigator. Investigators are independent professionals, not our employees, agents, or contractors. Any engagement, including its scope, price, payment, and results, is solely between the client and the Investigator.
3. License verification
We check Investigator license details against publicly available state registries at listing and at renewal. This is a good-faith administrative check, not a guarantee of an Investigator’s competence, conduct, insurance, or continued licensure. Clients should independently confirm licensing with the relevant state authority.
4. Accounts and memberships
Client accounts are free. Investigator memberships are sold for a fixed term and do not renew automatically. Membership fees are non-refundable except where a license cannot be verified, in which case we refund in full. We may suspend or remove any account or listing that violates these terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site to request or offer any service that is unlawful in the relevant jurisdiction, including unauthorized surveillance, tracking, interception of communications, or access to another person’s accounts or records; to post content that names, accuses, harasses, or threatens any person; to post false information about licensure or credentials; or to scrape, copy, or resell Site content.
6. Content
You retain ownership of content you post and grant us a license to display it on the Site. You are responsible for its accuracy and legality. We may remove content at our discretion.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Site is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the Site or from any engagement with an Investigator, including indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability to you will not exceed the membership fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, New York.
