InvestigatorSearch puts licensed investigators in front of clients who are ready to hire. Clients post jobs for free, browse the directory, and message you directly. You pay one flat membership; we never take a cut of your work.
How it works
1. Choose a plan and build your profile
Pick Basic or Pro, monthly or annual. Then complete your profile once: license number, state, and expiration, years in practice, insurance, languages, and a copy of your license for our records. Your license details appear on every listing you create, so you never enter them twice.
2. Add your listings
Each listing covers one case type: surveillance, locate a person, background checks, social media research, and so on. Describe how you handle that kind of work, set your service radius, and optionally list a starting rate. Basic includes 3 listings; Pro includes 10.
3. We verify your license
Every new listing is held for review while we check your license number, name, and expiration against the state registry. This usually takes one business day. You’ll get an email when it’s live, or a note from us if anything doesn’t match. Your profile isn’t visible to the public until your first listing is approved.
4. Get found, and find work
Clients find you in the directory by case type and location and message you directly. You also get the job board: when a client posts a job within your service radius in a case type you handle, you get an email right away. Each post shows the client’s name, phone, and how they prefer to be reached, so you can call or text them directly and take it from there.

What we ask of you
- Hold a current, valid license in every state you list.
- Keep your license expiration and insurance status up to date on your profile.
- Reply to client messages within a reasonable time, even if it’s to decline.
- Decline requests that would require breaking the law. Report them to us if they look like a pattern.
